Our Story: A Journey of Taste, Trust, and Tradition

Ana Ishikawa

Founders, Ana’s Trading Co., Ltd.

We love bringing the taste of home to you, but that isn’t our full story.

Over thirty years ago, we embarked on a journey to transform an ambitious vision into enduring reality. Starting with little more than a deep love for our culture and a passion to serve, we began delivering a small piece of the Philippines directly to the doorsteps of Filipino households in Japan. What started as a modest venture grew, with the unwavering support of family, into a thriving community.

From day one, the soul of Ana’s Trading has been rooted in a few simple truths: prioritize your heart, love your family, and celebrate what makes you unique. We believe life is not a problem to solve, but a gift to cherish. These values shape our culture, our team, and how we serve you every single day.

Today, we bring you an experience that goes far beyond grocery shopping. We have carefully built an ecosystem to serve every area of your busy, joyful life—from the pantry essentials you grew up with, to the comfort of authentic, home-style Filipino cooking, and custom treats from our bakeshop to celebrate your life's sweetest milestones. We do all of this to make sure you always feel connected, seen, and cared for, no matter how far from home you may be.

Whether it is your first time ordering with us or your hundredth, thank you for letting us be a part of your journey.
Our Story: From Humble Beginnings
Welcome to Ana’s Trading Co., Ltd.! Our journey began in 1994 when our founders, Toru and Ana Ishikawa, started Ana’s Sari-Sari Store with limited capital and a giant leap of faith.

Armed with pure perseverance, Ms. Ana personally delivered beloved Philippine products straight to Filipino homes across Saitama. While the early years brought modest profits, our passion for serving the community never wavered. Through hard work and your continued trust, our small family business steadily grew into the trading company we are today. We’re proud of where we started, and we're so glad you're part of our ongoing story!
1994 | The Journey Began: Armed with deep passion but limited capital, Ms. Ana Ishikawa began selling authentic Philippine products directly to Filipino households across Saitama. Hand-delivering goods straight to families laid a foundational promise that defines us to this day: putting customer care above all else.
1996 | Official Launch: Driven by pure dedication, the continuous growth and positive response from our customers led to an incredible milestone in 1996: the official establishment of Ana’s Sari-Sari Store in Toda! Backed by an initial capital of \2,000,000, a dedicated team of four, and just 30 varieties of authentic Philippine products, this cozy shop laid the foundation for our future.

1999 | Celebrating Filipino Flavors: In 1999, we took a delicious leap forward. We transitioned from a cozy neighborhood carinderia into the fully-fledged Ana’s Restaurant right next to our Toda branch. We wanted a vibrant place where families could sit down, smile, and feast on traditional, comforting Pinoy food.

2000–2001 | Securing the Supply Chain: To ensure we never ran out of the products you love, we launched our very first dedicated warehouse in 2000. By mid-2001, skyrocketing demand required us to quickly open a second facility, cementing our footprint as a highly reliable distributor.

2006 | Official Incorporation: Early 2006 marked a massive step toward modernization. We officially registered our official corporate trade name, transitioning from a neighborhood staple to Ana’s Trading Co., Ltd.

And guess what? There’s Always More On the Horizon!
We don't just stay behind the retail counter or the digital screen. To stay deeply connected with our roots, Ana’s Trading actively participates in vibrant cultural events, food expos, and community festivals all across Japan!

Wherever there is a celebration of culture, food, and family, you will find us there. We are constantly taking our show on the road—setting up massive, lively outdoor food stalls packed with sizzling, aromatic ihaw-ihaw (grill) favorites, fresh-off-the-grill treats, and signature Filipino dishes.
Even better, we actively partner with our dynamic sister company, Pinoy Kitchen, rolling out their crowd-favorite kitchen car at these events! Together, we bring a fully mobile, authentic food experience right to the heart of the festival, serving hot, comforting, home-style Filipino meals on wheels.

We love sponsoring local gatherings, organizing grand community feasts, and physically bringing the authentic, high-energy Filipino fiesta spirit straight to you. It is our way of sharing our rich, flavorful heritage with locals, expats, and international food lovers alike. We are constantly expanding our festival schedule, creating new pop-up experiences, and finding new ways to celebrate with you in person!
